Product Description

The CUMPAN Sensor Port is a special oil filter cover with an integrated sensor thread. It enables direct measurement of oil pressure or oil temperature and is optimised for use with the CUMPAN.

Function

The integrated M10x1 thread allows direct installation of an oil pressure or oil temperature sensor in the oil circuit. In combination with the CUMPAN, these values can be displayed and evaluated in real time. Oil pressure is one of the most important indicators of engine condition: unusual pressure behaviour provides early warnings of lubrication problems and helps prevent severe consequential damage.

If the chosen oil pressure sensor is too large to fit directly on the Sensor Port, the separately available hollow screw and banjo fitting provide additional mounting positions. This ensures reliable sensor installation even where space is limited.

Note

In a comparative measurement on an LC8 engine (MY 2008), a pressure approximately 0.5 bar lower was recorded at the timing chain tensioner compared to the oil filter cover (with the engine at operating temperature).
