Chain oiler for the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS
Installation report by Robert
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS – year of manufacture 2025
oil reservoir 60 ml
In the battery box. To make room, the battery has to be turned on its edge. I routed the oil hose through a hole in the battery box. On the outer right sits the branch for the filler hose, secured to the battery box with a cable tie – I drilled two small holes for this.
metering valve
I installed the pump behind the left side cover, a little below the T-piece for the filler hose. For this I used the retaining tab of the yellow connector, which I moved forwards.
nozzle
I attached the nozzle under the swingarm with silver cable ties. That holds even on the round surface. I have had bad experiences with purely adhesive joints. So that the clamping block cannot slip out, I filed notches into the edges.
switched 12 V supply
On the Triumph the horn has no ignition-switched positive. The USB socket cannot be tapped either, as it sits at the front in the instrument cluster. The shortest and simplest route leads into the fuse box through an empty duct from below. With a little skill, the bare end of the thin control wire can be clamped in together with the fuse for the lighting.
rain switch
I positioned the switch on the left handlebar clamp of the clutch lever. I routed the cable along the wiring harness under the left plastic cover to below the fuel tank. Remove the long bolt under the seat, then the tank can be lifted at the rear by 10 to 15 cm, which makes routing the cable much easier.
control unit
Because of the lack of space under the seat you have to think carefully about how to route the cables (most of them cannot be shortened). I laid long loops partly around the frame parts. The control unit just fits flat under the front retaining lug of the seat. Other spots are left to your imagination.
