Chain oiler for the KTM 890 Adventure
Installation report by Frank
KTM 890 Adventure – year of manufacture 2022
oil reservoir 120 ml
The large reservoir is attached with cable ties under the rear fairing on the left side and additionally padded with foam rubber. The variable vent was also connected and routed as far as under the rear fairing.
metering valve
The metering valve finds its place on the same side of the frame. It was attached to the airbox with double-sided tape and additionally secured with cable ties (belt and braces ;-) ). The storage compartment behind the left side panel has to be removed, otherwise the panel will no longer fit afterwards.
nozzle
I routed the oil line along the frame towards the front sprocket and from there behind the swingarm to the lower chain guide. However, I used two more plastic brackets than are in the packaging. (Better safe than sorry.) But you do not have to. I removed the rear wheel for routing the line, which makes the job easier.
switched 12 V supply
The switched 12 V wire is at the rear under the plastic cover. It is labelled ACC2. The metering valve and the control unit were connected there. That way all MOFESSOR components are dead when the motorcycle is switched off.
rain switch
The rain switch is fitted at the front right on the instrument panel. The fuel tank does not have to come off to route the cable. A thin wire as a threading aid, fed through behind the tank, is enough. In addition I covered the cables with sleeving as protection against chafing due to vibration. The cable is first pulled through the hole in the cover and then routed to the rear.
