Chain oiler for the Yamaha Tracer 700

Yamaha Tracer 700 – year of manufacture 2019
oil reservoir 60 ml
For the oil reservoir I chose the space under the painted panel at the rear left, attaching it to the frame; the left grab handle for the pillion has to be removed for this as well.
metering valve
I attached the metering valve a few centimetres to the left of and below the oil reservoir with an adhesive pad and a cable tie, on the outside of the battery compartment; it is thus almost completely “hidden” under the black panel part. In order to fit the cable tie I had to drill two holes in the battery compartment, which I will seal afterwards (with silicone or similar).
nozzle
I brought the nozzle up against the front sprocket and mounted the nozzle mounting clamp on the fixing for the gear position sensor. Unlike the installation example for the Tracer 900, however, I positioned the nozzle on the outer side of the front sprocket. Reason: in this position I can still see the nozzle even with the front sprocket cover fitted (for checking the correct positioning of the nozzle, for example).
switched 12 V supply
A workshop had previously fitted a fused cable with switched positive and a fully insulated push-on terminal under the seat for me; all the battery connecting cables were crimped together onto one blade terminal and joined to the cable mentioned above. The black battery connecting cable was connected to the negative of the battery with the ring terminal.
rain switch
I fitted the rain switch – like probably almost every user – on the left mirror and routed the cable, with strain relief, along an existing wiring harness under the fuel tank to below the seat. For this, the two panel parts at the front left have to be removed on the Tracer 700 (the painted one and the black part underneath).
control unit
I did not attach the control unit to the machine; instead I secured it together with all the system cables using cable ties and put everything under the battery strap.
