Chain oiler for the BMW F 900 XR
4 installation reports for this model
Installation report by Thomas Koch
BMW F 900 XR – year of manufacture 2020
This is how Thomas Koch solved the installation – unfortunately we cannot guarantee that it works correctly, as we were not able to check the installation ourselves.
Oil reservoir 60 ml
Attached to the main frame on the right with cable ties. Stick two padding pieces on top of the oil reservoir; once the cable ties are tightened it is held so that it cannot twist, and the vent valve stays at the top.
Metering valve
Mounting bracket painted black and attached to the frame with an M6 bolt. At this point the frame has a flat cross member with a gap. No drilling in the frame! An M6 with a washer and upholstery adhesive from below holds perfectly. As a safeguard, an additional cable tie, on the right in the photo. The photo is taken from below left, so a view of the outlet of the valve.
Nozzle
At the rear sprocket, outer side. The supplied clamp can be attached to the marked bolt of the chain guard and holds the end piece in position. Hose routing at the top, ahead of the splash guard.
Switched 12 V supply
The BMW accessory connector is already taken by the GPS device. Solution: tap directly at the fuse, without interfering with the vehicle wiring (warranty!). If the tap is made on the left as shown, the fuse also protects the MOFESSOR.
Rain switch
On the valve bracket. That saves routing the cable to the handlebar and removing the fairing.
Installation report by Waltaris
BMW F 900 XR – year of manufacture 2020

Oil reservoir 60 ml
The standard oil reservoir was attached to the right side of the subframe with cable ties.
Metering valve
The metering valve was attached to the cross brace of the subframe with the bracket I painted, using double-sided tape and a cable tie. The T-piece was placed accordingly between the oil reservoir and the valve.
Nozzle
At the front sprocket – the nozzle was bolted on with the clamp behind the left panel (onboard socket) and extended right up to the chain with a piece of hose – 500 km field test passed successfully!
Switched 12 V supply
The power supply (positive and switched positive) is connected with a home-made Y-cable (MOFESSOR + USB socket) via an SZ connector.

This is how Jan solved the installation – unfortunately we cannot guarantee that it works correctly, as we were not able to check the installation ourselves.
Metering valve
Attached with the valve bracket on the left-hand side of the subframe (cable tie as extra security).
Nozzle
Sitting against the outside of the rear sprocket – bracket attached to the inside of the swingarm.
Switched 12 V supply
Connected via the "BMW navigation interface" (part no. MID010005 – available online, for example), behind the

Oil reservoir 60 ml
No ESA fitted, so the 60 ml oil reservoir could be strapped nicely to the subframe instead. 120 ml should be no problem either.
Metering valve
A bracket was bolted on instead at the lower mounting point of the ESA, and the supplied holder for the solenoid valve was attached to it.
Switched 12 V supply
The SZ socket, which is at the front right on the panel, was fitted with the plug (BMW 83300413585 from the dealer for about 10 euros) and the cable extended. The cable was pushed through the panel on the right side.
